MANDELA DAY: WESTERN CAPE
\n<\/strong>CPM’s Head Office team rolled up their sleeves and got their hands dirty this year, focussing on a hyper-local project that contributes to the efforts to green the industrial areas of our beloved City. The bitterly cold and wet winter scuppered our plans on the 18^{th<\/sup>, causing a postponement of the activities. But Cape Town staff members seized a gap in the inclement weather a week later and rallied together to make a space that everyone can enjoy. Armed with tools and plants from their own backyards (as well as those sponsored by CPM), it was a team effort indeed, with the Montague Gardens family working in shifts to transform an eyesore in the public area near our offices into the beginnings of a beautiful garden \u2013 more in alignment with the name of our suburb! See below for the before and after photos.<\/p>\n}

MANDELA DAY: GAUTENG
\n<\/strong>Our colleagues from the City of Gold generously gave donations of both time and physical items to two charity initiatives for our July 18^{th<\/sup> commemorations. Animals are close to the hearts of many, so food donations from all the pet parents at CPM were delivered by Walter and Tom to the Edenvale SPCA<\/strong><\/span><\/a> again this year.\u00a0 The Gauteng team also had a ball making soup for the less fortunate. A large quantity of this delicious broth was given to Helping Hands<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, an organisation that feeds families in need and aims to provide assistance, whether physical, emotional, or otherwise, to those in need – regardless of race, creed, or social status. The remainder of the portions were handed personally to homeless people by individual staff members. If you are moved to support either of these charities, please see their website links above. MANDELA DAY: KWAZULU-NATAL
\n<\/strong>One of the biggest issues we face in South Africa is that of our country\u2019s many vulnerable children. This year our KZN team supported the Baby Home – a fully registered Place of Safety that cares for abandoned or orphaned babies, and babies who have been given up for adoption. They nurture each of their infants individually, providing them with the love and care that every child deserves, until a permanent solution is found for each child. A project of The Peace Agency, the Durban North Baby Home cares for babies and toddlers between the age of 0 and 4, and little ones with special needs. Both the Durban branch and our staff individually made donations of cleaning aids, baby necessities and toiletries towards the needs of this Home, which are extensive. MANDELA DAY: EASTERN CAPE
\n<\/strong>Our Port Elizabeth\/Gqeberha office is the smallest of our branches, but what they lack in numbers, they certainly make up for in the size of their hearts. Our 5 CPM family members in Nelson Mandela Bay decided to contribute to their local radio station Luister FM’s Handbag Project. This initiative encourages participants to fill unwanted handbags with toiletries, necessities and spoils, which are then distributed to women in need in the metro area. Pictured below with the bags of goodies are CPM Eastern Cape staff members Lila and Renee, and Chantel and Andre.<\/p>\n
